Furtados provides exceptional music teaching! Both of our children take piano lessons here—our son learns under the wonderful guidance of Geoffrey Sir, and his sister also learns here with a fantastic experience. A huge thank you to Sushma Ma'am, who is always helpful, cooperative, and so encouraging in supporting their musical journey. A truly wonderful place for kids to learn music! 👍

FAQ

Where can I learn piano in Seawoods?

You can learn piano at our Furtados School of Music center in Seawoods. We offer piano classes for beginners and learners looking to improve their skills. Online classes and home tuitions may also be available depending on your requirements.

Should I buy an acoustic piano or a digital piano to practise on?

Both can work well for learning. Digital pianos are more affordable, take up less space and allow quiet practice with headphones, while acoustic pianos offer a richer touch and sound. For beginners, a digital piano with full-size, weighted keys is often a practical choice. Our piano teachers can guide you based on your budget and goals.

Can I learn piano online if I live in Seawoods?

Yes. Online piano lessons are a convenient option if you cannot travel to a center. You will need a piano or keyboard, a stable internet connection and a device with a camera positioned so that your teacher can see your hands and posture. Please contact us to check the online options available.

What is the right age to join piano classes in Seawoods?

Children can begin piano once they are able to sit comfortably at the instrument and follow instructions, often from around 5 to 6 years of age, while teenagers and adults can start at any age. Please contact us to confirm age eligibility for the classes you are interested in.

How long does it take to learn piano?

The time it takes depends on your practice routine, your goals and the style of music you want to play. Many beginners can play simple melodies within the first few months of regular practice, while building stronger technique and reading skills takes longer.

Do I need to learn to read sheet music for piano?

Reading music notation is a valuable skill and is commonly taught in piano lessons, as it helps you learn new pieces independently. Depending on your goals, your teacher can also introduce chords, playing by ear and other approaches alongside notation.

Why are posture and hand position important when learning piano?

Good posture and a relaxed hand position help you play comfortably, move across the keys more easily and avoid strain. Your piano teacher will guide you on sitting height, wrist position and finger technique from the start.

Do I need any music experience before joining piano classes in Seawoods?

No. Our piano classes are suitable for complete beginners, and you can start without any prior music experience. If you already play a little, your teacher can help you build on what you know.
