About The Band : aswekeepsearching

Fsm Certified Teacher

Turning heads and perking up ears since 2015, aswekeepsearching have been spreading their brand of positivity and hopefulness across the globe. The band started truly small - a home studio project founded by Uddipan Sarmah & Shubham Gurung, whilst they resided in the small city of Gujarat, Ahmedabad. 2015, saw them come together with Robert Alex & Gautam Deb (Drums), and led to the launch of AWKS's first full-length release titled 'Khwaab' (meaning Dream). This moment was the start of a change in the Indian independent music circuit. With the music spreading like wildfire owing to its fresh and emotive approach, the band redefined the touring culture in India; taking their music to a multitude of cities locally and also embarking on their first ever overseas 5 city Russian Tour. The extensive touring schedule of Khwaab brought them their sophomore record Zia (meaning light) an eleven-track album birthed from the shared experiences of the band. Zia saw the light of the day in April '17 to applause from both critics & fans alike. Expanding the sonic landscape, the band collaborated with like-minded artists on select songs, bringing India instrumentation such as Tabla, Sitar into their already diverse soundscape. This made for a unique and enthralling listen for a global audience setting a standard for Modern Post-Rock. The band went on to extensively tour - from selling out venues on their album launch tour, to performing at premiere music festivals in India such as NH7 Weekender and VH1 Supersonic. In May '18, the band embarked on their second overseas outing and most ambitious expedition yet - a 15 City tours across Europe. Delivering critically acclaimed, hair raising experiences at notable post-rock outings like dunk! Festival(Belgium) & Pelagic Fest (Germany), the band made a lasting impression on Europe, and returned to their home country to begin work on the third album Rooh (meaning Soul) which is due for a fall 2019 release. 2019 also saw the departure of drummer Gautam Deb, with the bands longtime friend & collaborator Sambit Chatterjee joining forces. Intriguing and enamoring all that they touch with their sound, the band has joined ranks amongst the most sought after acts in the post-rock landscape. Having shared the stage with notable acts such as God is an Astronaut, Steven Wilson, 65daysofstatic, PG.Lost, Tides of Man, sleepmakeswaves, The Contortionist, Plini and many more, only pays testimony to the live experience the band delivers. Their music is an aural painting, cathartic and unbiased - vividly colorful and infinitely kind. From the first bar of the music till the curtain drops, it is apparent that the four members fueled by idealism and the drive to build something beautiful, are set out to move mountains.
