INTRODUCTION OF THE COURSE
In this course the students would first learn the parts of the guitar and also the importance of the right posture.
They would learn how to read western notations with linked TABS.
The course covers a variety of open string and fretted note lessons followed by scales.
The students would also learn music pieces as part of the workout which will help them in attempting the performance pieces.
Basic sight reading and listening skills are also covered in this course.
DETAILS ABOUT THE COURSE
Fundamentals - Guitar Parts, Right Posture, How to hold the Plectrum, Note values till Quavers, Understanding Treble Clef and linked TABS, Understanding the 4/4 and 3/4 time signatures, Playing Open string lessons.
Technique - Playing Down and Up strokes, Playing multiple notes together, C and G Major Scales.
Sight Reading - To be able to read the Treble Clef with linked TABS.
Repertoire - Pieces from the Rockstar curriculum - Grade Primary.
LEARNING OUTCOME FROM THE COURSE
10 sessions - Students will learn basics of the guitar with focus on open string and fretted note lessons with a few pieces from the curriculum. Based on that, students will learn simple tunes like Twinkle Twinkle, Happy Birthday etc.
20 sessions - Students will learn more exercises and pieces from the curriculum. They will also be introduced to scales like E Natural minor, A minor pentatonic and G Major. The students will also learn to play eighth notes. The songs in the book will be slightly advanced and the students will be able to play external repertoire of similar level. They will also understand rhythm reading and sight reading.
36 sessions - Apart from what is covered in the 20 sessions, the students will learn more scales like the E minor pentatonic, G Major and A natural minor.
