ABOUT THE COURSE

• Understanding parts of the instrument and the right posture

• Learning to read Treble & Bass clef with tablature and note values

• Techniques, Lessons and Simple Tunes using open strings and fretted notes

• Exercises and composition activities to ensure confidence in performance

• Performance pieces and workout to be played along with backing tracks

LEARNING OUTCOMES

10 sessions 

• Introduction to techniques, exercises, workout pieces and music theory
• Introduction to note values & rests
• Learning one octave scales and introduction to chords
• Learning various parts of a songs like intro, chorus, lead, counterpoint, outro, bridge, etc.

20 sessions​

• Learning more scales and sequences of those scales
• Introduction to Pentatonic scales and sequences
• Introduction to Power chords
• Learning advanced music theory concepts, signs and symbols
• Learning slightly advanced compositions from the curriculum
• Introduction to rhythm reading and sight reading on the first three strings

36 sessions

• ​​Learning slightly advanced music theory and composition skills
• Introduction to slightly advanced rhythm reading and sight reading across all strings
• Learning advanced songs and compositions from the curriculum and advancing from Primary to Grade One
