Carnatic music is a form of music that is associated with the southern part of India with its area roughly confined to five states of India i.e. Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. As the name goes, 'Carna' means ear and 'atakam' means ornaments/jewelry. Hence the name - Carnatic music. With its rich variety of ragas, Carnatic music provides nearly a limitless array of melodic patterns which can be used to effect this navigation under a variety of circumstances.
