Introductory Kathak/Semi Classical

Introduction of the course: Kathak is a unique dance form consisting of Gharanas and cultural elements of gharanas. Kathak performances include Urdu gazals and commonly used instruments. It represents a unique synthesis of Hindu and Muslim genius in art. It is the only form of classical dance wedded to Hindustani or North Indian music.
Details about the course: The course will focus on bringing students to a basic understanding of Kathak, its history, the lineages, and the technique. The instruction will be enhanced with visuals that clarify the process and allow students to form a clear vision in their minds. Students will learn to express their inner feeling with the help of semi-classical dance choreography.
