Western Vocals is all about using the correct registers and engaging in the right anatomical parts of the Vocal engine to produce appealing sounds.
ABOUT THE COURSE
- Introduction to musical notes
- Singing notes from low to high and back down again.
- Solfeggiating the Major Scale and practicing tongue twisters at different tempos
- Clear enunciation of vowels
- Exercises to open the jaw, relax muscles, and open the throat for better vocal performance.
This course is designed to help you build a strong vocal foundation and improve your overall singing technique.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Note Positions: Learn the note positions from Doh to Sol in both ascending and descending order within the C major scale (e.g., Do, Do Re Do, Do Re Mi Re Do).
- Arpeggio Practice : Understand the concept of the Arpeggio by practicing it with different sets of words.
- Dynamics Control : Master the control of dynamics with focus on piano (p), mezzo-forte (mf), and forte (f).
- Song Learning : Memorize lyrics and learn songs in segments to improve retention and performance.
- Note Values and Measures : Understand note values and measures through the Beverage System.
- Singing within the Octave : Practice singing within the octave, including a few notes just above and below the octave.
- Breathing and Technique : Learn diaphragmatic breathing, singing without facial tension, maintaining an open mouth, avoiding body rigidity, and keeping relaxed shoulders for optimal vocal performance.
