ABOUT THE COURSE
The intermediate violin course is designed for students who have already learned the basics of violin playing and are looking to expand their skills and knowledge. The course will build on the foundation established in a beginner course and introduce more advanced techniques and concepts. The course may be structured in a variety of ways, but typically includes regular lessons with our violin teacher, as well as ensemble rehearsals and performance opportunities. Students will work on developing their technique, musicianship, and interpretive skills through the study of more advanced repertoire.
Intermediate students will typically focus on more advanced bowing techniques, playing in different keys and positions on the violin, improvisation and interpretation of music, sight-reading and playing by ear, playing in small ensembles or orchestras, scales and arpeggios, and vibrato technique. The course may also include additional elements such as music theory, ear training, and performance practice.
