My daughter learns how to play the guitar at Furtados. The teaching staff is fabulous and also flexible with a child’s schedule. I highly recommend the Furtados school

Furtados has done an excellent job! Events like these give kids the right exposure and help them overcome one of the biggest fears—performing on stage.
Teachers like Denim Sir are truly inspiring. As Tanuja Ma’am (Founder of Furtados) rightly mentioned, music should be an integral part of a child’s life, especially at a young age. It plays a big role in boosting confidence, shaping personality, and helping them grow into better human beings—while also connecting them to something truly divine.
A big thank you to the entire organising team—especially Kruti, whom I know—for putting together such a wonderful event.
In fact, we’ve become a bit greedy now—we’d love to see these events happening even more frequently! 😄

FSM Powai is a wonderful place for learning different musical instruments and vocals. The centre manager Kruti and the teachers Deepak Sir and Prutha Ma'am have been providing excellent coaching. FSM also gives opportunity to its student's to perform on big stage like events, NCPA and happening places like restaurants supporting live music giving them real life experience. Special mention of centre manager who manages the centre effectively. Thanks FSM PowaiTeam!

I like the music teachers in furtados, very technical in their teaching and patient. The performances and events helps young talents in building confidence, very well organised.
It would be also nice if there is a dedicated room with grand piano setup for students to have good experience while giving their exams.
Rest overall its good school for learning music.

You can learn drums at our Furtados School of Music center in Powai. We offer drum classes for beginners and learners looking to improve their skills. Online classes and home tuitions may also be available depending on your requirements.
Should I choose an acoustic drum kit or an electronic drum kit?
Acoustic drum kits offer the traditional feel and sound but are loud and need more space. Electronic kits are quieter, compact and allow headphone practice, which can suit apartments and home practice. Our drum teachers can help you choose based on your space, budget and musical goals.
Can I learn drums online if I live in Powai?
Yes. Online drum lessons are a convenient option if you cannot travel to a center. You will need a drum kit, an electronic kit or at least a practice pad, a stable internet connection and a device with a camera so that your teacher can see your sticking and posture. Please contact us to check the online options available.
What is the right age to join drum classes in Powai?
Children can begin drums once they can sit comfortably at the kit and coordinate their hands and feet, while teenagers and adults can start at any age. Please contact us to confirm age eligibility for the classes you are interested in.
How long does it take to learn drums?
The time it takes depends on your practice routine and goals. Many beginners learn basic beats and simple rhythms within the first few months of regular practice, while building coordination, speed and advanced techniques takes longer.
What equipment do I need to start learning drums?
Most beginners start with a pair of drumsticks and a practice pad, and your teacher will guide you on using the drum kit during classes. As you progress, you may want your own kit or an electronic kit for regular practice. Your teacher can advise you on what to buy based on your needs.
How can I practise drums at home without disturbing others?
A practice pad is a quiet way to work on rhythm, stick control and rudiments. Electronic drum kits with headphones or mesh heads can also reduce noise. Your drum teacher can suggest practice options that suit your living space.
Do I need any music experience before joining drum classes in Powai?
No. Our drum classes are suitable for complete beginners, and you can start without any prior music or rhythm experience. If you already play a little, your teacher can help you build on what you know.
